The Fred Simon Gallery presents the artwork of a select number of Nebraska artists each year. Iggy Sumnik and Linda Stephen, both natives of the Great Lakes State of Michigan, present recent works.
Linda Stephen‘s paper and origami landscapes celebrate the festive and quiet moments in our lives. This summer, as an artist in residence with the National Parks Service at the Homestead National Monument of America in Beatrice, Linda started a new series that honors the history of homesteading and also celebrates the restored tallgrass prairie at HomesteadNM. The Homestead “House and Home” series will be unveiled at the Fred Simon Gallery.
Iggy Sumnik and his ceramic sculptures embrace and merge cultural trends and the natural world to create bright, interesting and contrasting scenarios.
