Family Friendly event – EVERYONE is invited!
Where: Union Plaza 21st & P St. in Lincoln
When: Sunday, September 15, 2013 2:00pm – 4:00pm
What: ARTS IN THE PLAZA: SUPPORTING A COMMUNITY OF ART. This family friendly, community event will bring to life all the wonders of the arts community. There will be activities and demonstrations for everyone to enjoy. Some arts featured will be Culinary, Theatrical, Musical, Visual, Martial Arts and the Art in Motion.
Also, visitors can see the final installment of the 2013 Community Supported Art Harvest and meet the artists. Based on the same model as community supported agriculture, in this first year of Community Supported Art in Lincoln, 50 shares of “art stock” were sold to people who have been receiving their “harvest” of art throughout the summer. Nine local artists (including Linda) were selected to each create 50 pieces of unique art for these shareholders. A 10th piece of art was created by pottery classes of North Star High School, giving each shareholder a total of 10 original works. The first two deliveries were held during Jazz in June and the Old Cheney Road Farmers Market. All are welcome to the free event.
